We boondock often and I've noticed the drivers side slide wall was always warmer than anywhere else. All of our cabinets would heat up ten degrees or more than the room temperature. I think that's bad for all our food when it's 95 degrees inside our cabinets. In an attempt to fix this insulation problem I cut rolls of Reflectix to fit the walls in my cabinets and around my refrigerator. The higher temperatures were also lacking the fridge run all day and that was really drawing a lot from our solar. I'd still have to run the generator a little most days while boondocking in hot weather.
I'm happy to report a month after filming this there's been a noticeable temperature difference in our cabinets. I intend to insulate more areas in the same manner. Possibly behind every drawer and cabinet against an outer wall or ceiling. Stay tuned for that sometime in the future.
